For the first three days of the trek we would go higher and higher up
in altitude. As the air got colder the views kept getting better. This
photo taken at the end of our first day shows that we were already
above the clouds.

Some of the highest mountains on this planet make for a good background to the frozen land we're standing on.
It was indeed as cold as it looks.
The only vehicles available in the area to make it that high up are these ancient Land Rovers.

two weeks in the fresh Himalayan air I arrived in Kolkata, one of
India's major metropolises.
