Malaysia / Brunei October/November 2010
In October 2010 it was time for my friend Martin and me again to catch up and have a good holiday. After successfully getting my motorbike licence the same year we decided to make it a motorbike holiday and explore the tropical island of Borneo. Meeting point for our holidays this time was Kuala Lumpur from where we booked a cheap Air Asia flight to Kota Kinabalu in the Malaysian province of Sabah. Kota Kinabalu would become our start and finish point for the Borneo tour. And it was there that we hired our bikes. Of the available models the bikes most suitable for our intended trip where two Kawasaki KLX150 dirt bikes. In the four weeks following we explored the Malaysian provinces of Sabah and Sarawak and the nation of Brunei. We encountered Orang Utans, Caymans, Proboscis monkeys; we climbed mountains, swam in waterfalls, dived the reefs and trekked the tropical rain forest. And, again, we met the most welcoming and friendly people.
